'Unsupervised — Machine Hallucinations — MoMA Fluid Dreams #1' by Refik Anadol is privately acquired by RFC Collection from Hashes DAO.
The artwork was originally minted in May 2022 with Feral File. It is one of three 1/1 works created, with one becoming the first tokenized artwork to join MoMA's permanent collection. The other two are now united in the RFC Collection.
Pablo Fraile (RFC) thanks Eli Scheinman, who facilitated the deal, and Feral File, "who helped set the standard for what digital exhibitions and digital provenance can be".
Via Fraile:
"More than an exhibition, Unsupervised marked a pivotal moment for culture. It demonstrated that digital art could hold its own alongside the great works of the past, while opening new perspectives on how we understand and experience art itself
It didn’t announce itself with shock or spectacle. It simply made clear, with quiet confidence, that digital art belongs. That it carries weight, earns its place, and is already part of the contemporary canon"
"404 glitch-inspired action-figure mockups based on the iconic CC0 artworks of XCOPY."
'X FIGURES' by Nuclear Samurai sell out with OpenSea.
After minting at 0.018 and 0.02 ETH each, the collection sees a surge of 54.15 ETH in total volume, pushing list to 0.23 ETH.
'ArchiTextures' 1/1/128 by Richard Nadler with SuperRare near sellout, with more than $140,000 USD in volume thus far.
27 auctions are in simultaneous countdown, ranging from 0.25 - 0.4 ETH bids at present.
3 physicals remain at 2 ETH, along with 18 works at 0.25 ETH reserves.
Monday, June 16th:
'Cities' by Efdot x Diid with Art Blocks Studio: 500 unique artwork collection with 350 available
Tuesday, June 17th:
'Feed' by DeltaSauce with Fellowship: 70 unique artworks available for 24 hour auction at 0.1 ETH reserves
Many artists are finding success with smaller editions and collections in the $5K - 25K USD total range. It's the hardest thing to track (many independent releases don't appear on aggregators) but by far the most fulfilling.
Alright my friends. It is time. 24 Hours of Art heads to Art Basel, Switzerland.
This is my first proper crack at taking the Report on a sustained, overseas trip that will last nearly two weeks.
What to Expect:
- Everydays: Will continue!
- Release Time: Earlier. The current plan is to adjust to local time and sustain early morning execution. Practically that means you'll receive your emails and updates ~6 hours earlier than normal.
- Style: Condensed. I'll prioritize delivering you key information each day in shorter form. Higher sales thresholds will be the main driver here.
- ART: Will continue! While I'll communicate to Justin Wetch earlier, delivery times will not change on this front, as his time zone stays consistent.
Today Reported:
Sales thresholds of 5 ETH+ Collection, 0.35 ETH+ 1/1, 0.75 ETH+ 1/1/X, and 0.35 ETH+ Edition
While the Report shifts to abbreviation, we'll have fresh content coming on another frontier.
24 Hours of Art is at Art Basel with ArtMeta and the Digital Art Mile. My goal is to deliver a window into the experience. Tuesday, June 17th is our feature day, as I host 'Digital Art Market Day' alongside some brilliant individuals.
Stay tuned. More to come.
Leave it to Alphonso Knudsen, founder of Gristle Buddeez, to be the most watched DAM Show of all-time. He probably could have predicted that. He is, after all, known as "The Visionary".
Watch the recording here and be prepared for the absurd.
